The GP Community Federal Credit Union exists to operate as a cooperative providing a quality service to its members in a consistent, efficient, and professional manner.

 

The GP Community Federal Credit Union
An Historical Overview


The GP Community Federal Credit Union was organized on August 17, 1964 and commenced business on September 27, 1964. The credit union was and still is federally chartered. The credit union was formed so that Georgia Pacific employees could have a means of saving money by payroll deduction. The initial field of membership was any permanent Georgia Pacific employee and their immediate family. On April 1, 1994, DN Federal Credit Union was merged into the credit union, that same year we began serving employees from Jefford’s Steel and Northeastern Industrial Contracting Company. In 1998 Employees of Imperial Federal Credit Union merged into the credit union. Finally in 2001, The GP Community Federal Credit Union gained Community field of membership status, which makes anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or does business in Clinton County, New York, eligible for membership in this credit union.
